You Were Meant For Me

Kacy Colleen - You Were Meant For Me

“...her (Kacy Colleen) CD is lush and full of typical jazz repertoire songs with a tilt towards Brazilian sounds. The most singular thing here is Colleen’s voice, a thick, whispery instrument that makes her stand out from the pack… The Brazilian influence is very strong on this CD and it provides Colleen with the basis for her two best performances on the Jobim songs “Meditation” and “Agua de Beber.” ...Kacy Colleen is a haunting singer and this CD is worth hearing.”
(Cadence Magazine, July 2000, New York)

“Kacy does a beautiful job interpreting ‘You Were Meant For Me’”
(Composer Michael Franks, January 2000, from Michael’s Website)

“whether singing soft Latin jazz or pop standards, Colleen’s voice—gliding like a songbird—is quite moving and convincing.”
(Jazz Scene, December 1999, Portland, OR )

Sojourn

Sojorn

Sojourn is a collection of duets performed by Kacy Colleen and guitarist Dale Lawrence. Calling themselves “Nouveau 2” the duo performed at local venues as well as on tour in California.

“Both members possess a strong individuality and compliment one another well in performance…in concert, as well as on their recordings, the duo’s jazz style runs the gamut from swing to bossa-nova and from ballad to be-bop…all of these renditions are done with a clarity and depth that is associated with an ensemble containing far more musicians.”
